Tk20 Assessment System

At the end of the Spring 2021 semester, Northwest Education Students will stop using TK20. We are in the process of migrating all remaining assessments in Tk20 to other online systems.

What does this mean for our students?

If a student is planning to student teach during the Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 semesters, they will still be required to have a Tk20 subscription. If students plan to student teach after the end of Spring 2021, they will not be required to purchase a subscription.

So, as of fall of 2020, students will not be required to purchase a Tk20 subscription to be admitted to teacher education. But, they will need to purchase a subscription to apply for student teaching for Spring 2021 or to student teach in 2021. Then, in spring 2021, only those student teaching that semester will be required to have a Tk20 subscription. As of summer 2021, no students will be required to have a Tk20 subscription.

More about Tk20

Tk20 is an online assessment system required to upload and store student and program data for national and state accreditation purposes. Education students will upload certain assignments in Tk20 so their development can be assessed according to standards. Course instructors will notify students about which assignments must be uploaded to Tk20. This assessment process allows the university to identify academic deficiencies among students, programs or the unit, and make improvements.

Purchasing Tk20

All Northwest undergraduate and graduate education students are required to purchase a seven year subscription to Tk20. Students may purchase this subscription wither at the campus bookstore or online. The cost at the bookstore is $130.00 (plus tax), and students are able to use any normal form of payment or their Bearcat Card as well as order them online from the bookstore website.

If purchased online, the cost of a Tk20 subscription is $103 and a credit card is required. In order to purchase Tk20 online, first log in to MyNorthwest here: //mynw.nwmissouri.edu/.

Once logged in to MyNorthwest, students will click on the small Tk20 logo on the right side of the page, and then click on the large Tk20 logo in the center of the following page. Whether a subscription is purchased online or at the bookstore, students will always access the system by logging into MyNorthwest.
